Norse myths: Creation and Ragnarok

Odin, Thor, Loki – even if you’re not a comic fan, unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, you’ll have at least heard about them. They were gods of the vikings, ancient Norse seafarers and fierce warriors who raided across Europe a few hundred years ago. There’s so much more to their rich and fascinating beliefs, which is why for our second episode we decided to delve into Norse mythology.

In this episode we look at the stories told during the Viking Age about the creation and the destruction of the world (known as Ragnarok). If you’ve ever wondered what hermaphrodite frost giants, magical cows, and giant serpent and wolf brothers have to do with each other, this episode should enlighten you. So join us as we try to (unsuccessfully) pronounce old Norse names and discuss all there is to know about the Creation and Ragnarok myths.
